Stefanie Finocchio-Durham, L.Ac

There has always been a strong pull towards natural medicine for Stefanie- starting first with yoga.  In college Stef began her yoga practice first as a physical outlet, but shortly into her journey she realized her yoga practice was opening her up to a whole new way of life.  Yoga helped her to cope with anxiety, to stay active and mobil, to find clarity and overall helped her to discover and navigate who she was in the world.  After college Stef completed her 200 hour YTT with Michelle Fleming, who still to this day she credits and thanks for so much of her knowledge and learning.  From there she got her advanced certification in Thai Yoga Massage, this is where Stef began to realize she really loved working one on one with people. A few years later, after much studying, training, clinical and board exams- Stef obtained her Masters in Acupuncture.  From here, Root + Sky Wellness was born and took off running. Flashforward to 2023, Stef met an amazing friend who she instantly felt aligned with, Amy Sadler of LunaMoss.  Together they joined together to create their unique vision-The Estuary.

Lastly, we can not forget to mention what defines Stefanie the most, being a mother!  Her two beautiful boys, Sky born in 2016 and River in 2019.  Everything she does in life is with them in mind.

Stef holds a Bachelors in writing from UMASS Boston, Masters in Acupuncture from MCPHS, Nationally Board Certified with the NCCAOM and Licensed in the state of MA.  Additionally she holds her 200ytt and Advanced Thai Yoga Massage certification.

These days she trains teachers and students to find a fluid pattern of movement that protects and nourishes the joints while stretching the muscles and connective tissue and quieting the mind. She is the owner of Sanctuary Wellness Studios, Director of Orthopedic Yoga and Transformational Yoga Therapy and founder of Equilibrium, a non-profit dedicated to bringing breath, movement and nutrition education to young people with anxiety and mood disorders.
